The arrival of spring marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year holiday. Lunar New Year (or Tet) is the traditional New Year’s Eve of Vietnamese, in which people celebrate the coming of a new year in the lunar calendar. This is the most ancient and well-celebrated tradition amongst all Vietnamese ethnics. For an Asian country like Vietnam, where the distinguished cultural and family-related values are always prioritized, Lunar New Year is the time when family members reunite and enjoy traditional delicacies such as square cakes, Vietnamese sausages, candied fruits, seeds and pickles together. A nostalgic season, Tet reminds Vietnamese people of their ancestors, traditions and values and is an occasion when people pay their tribute and gratitude to their older family members.
In the capital city, Hanoians celebrate Tet in a delicate and graceful way. People clean their houses, give gifts and prepare a five-fruit tray to pay respect to their ancestors on New Year’s Eve. On the first three days of the new year, people spend time visiting family members and friends, during which they exchange lucky money and bestow best wishes upon each other.
This Tet season, we are proud to invite you to experience a taste of Tet with delectable traditional fare at our restaurants and fascinating entertainment programs at our bars. Join us in celebrating a memorable Vietnamese new year in the cozy and intimate atmosphere of our hotel!
